About

I've treated patients, managed health data and run my own clinic.

In 2026 I used AI to build that clinic's management system. Now I help other clinics and health programs do the same.

Ernest Nsooya Akurgo

I trained as a nurse prescriber in Ghana. Clinical care came first, then running a sub-district: a health center, its staff, its budget and its paperwork. After that I spent four years as a health management information system officer, collecting facility data and turning it into charts and reports that managers could act on.

In 2013 I co-founded Menesto Medical Center, a 24-hour facility in the Upper East Region that is now on its way to becoming a General Hospital. I later did a Master in Public Health at KIT Royal Tropical Institute in Amsterdam, and I live in Bergen op Zoom.

Building the Menesto system changed what I thought was possible for a clinic our size. Twenty years ago a system like that meant a vendor, a contract and a long wait. With AI I built one around how our staff actually work, and I learned where AI helps and where it needs a person watching it.

I work in two markets. Clinics and programs in Ghana and West Africa, where I know the insurance rules, the power cuts and the patient queues. And clinics and health technology teams in The Netherlands and Europe, where I bring the view from the front line.
